Memento Mori : Memento Vivere

I’m glad to be back working on Memento Mori : Memento Vivere, the book about Kathy Whalen who for 21 years was my partner and co-worker at Incline Press.  I had reached number 41 of 50 illustrated double page spreads and hit something of an emotional block with the writing.  Rather than beat myself up over my difficulty with the text, I followed my usual behaviour and instead turned to other work, the three prospectuses for which you should have received through the post recently. If you didn’t, email us for a copy.

As I expected, the logjam broke when I looked in other directions, and in these photos you can read the text and see the accompanying illustrations. This is completely different from what was begun, but tells the tale succinctly.

So this week, folding, tipping and collating of section six of the eight in the book should be completed, then on with the penultimate section.  All being well, I hope all the printing will be finished by the end of July, but I have made the mistake of being that optimistic before.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, take a look at the shop at inclinepress.com, where you will find the prospectus illustrated. Orders are still being taken.
